At Yozu Creative, we believe that a successful website goes beyond just aesthetics; it must also be user-friendly.

UX (user experience) design focuses on how visitors interact with your site, ensuring easy navigation and quick load times. Meanwhile, UI (user interface) design deals with the visual elements like color schemes, typography, and layout.

For a website to be effective, UX and UI must work in harmony. Our team specializes in both areas, ready to help whether you’re starting anew or improving an existing site.

Frequently Asked Questions

Here are common questions about web development. If you have more, feel free to reach out.

Ask a Question

What is responsive web development?

Have you ever visited a website on your phone and had to zoom in and out to read the text or navigate the site? That’s where responsive web design comes to save the day!

Responsive web development is all about creating websites that look and function great on any device, whether it’s a desktop, laptop, tablet, or smartphone. A responsive website automatically adjusts its layout and content to fit the size of the screen it’s being viewed on.

This means that your website will be easy to use and navigate, no matter what device your visitors are using. Plus, with more and more people browsing the web on their phones, having a responsive website is more important than ever.

What does mobile-first mean in web development?

Mobile-first is a design approach that puts mobile devices at the forefront of web development. Essentially, it means designing a website with the mobile experience in mind first, before moving on to the desktop version.

This approach makes sense because mobile devices account for the majority of web traffic these days. So, it’s essential that your website looks and functions great on mobile devices.

When designing for mobile first, the focus is on simplicity and efficiency. This means prioritising the most important information and making sure that it’s easy to access on a smaller screen. From there, the design can be expanded to include more features and functionality for larger screens.

Designing for mobile first also means taking into account things like slower internet speeds and limited data plans. By prioritising speed and efficiency, you can create a website that’s not only easy to use on mobile devices, but also loads quickly and doesn’t use up too much data.

What is a CMS and why is it important?

Have you ever wondered how website owners manage to update their content so quickly and easily? The answer is a CMS, or content management system!

A CMS is a software platform that allows you to create, manage, and publish digital content, like web pages, blog posts, and images. With a CMS, you don’t need any technical knowledge or coding skills to update your website — you can do it all through a user-friendly interface.

There are many different CMS options out there, but we focus on WordPress.

Every website we build is done so using a component system which allows you to quickly and easily add or edit content, create new pages, and test page layouts without having to rely on a web developer, without the bloat of traditional page builders, and without worrying about maintaining a consistent brand approach.

Can you handle ongoing maintenance after developing my website?

Yes, we can! And we do for a lot of our clients.

Whilst we build all of our websites to allow our clients to be self-sufficient, there may be times you want new functionality adding, bugs fixing (they happen!), or changes that are not possible through the CMS — or you just don’t have the time or resource to manage it internally.

We have a number of ‘off-the-shelf’ maintenance options available and we can also create a more bespoke package based on individual requirements.

We are also WPEngine partners so we can also offer hosting of your website on a world-class WordPress hosting provider.

Do you do SEO for my website when you build it?

In part, yes..

Website SEO can be broken into two different areas, technical SEO and on-page SEO — we provide technical SEO support and ensure all of our websites meet strict guidelines, however, we do not offer on-page or content based SEO services such as keyword research or SEO optimised content.

Technical SEO covers the unseen aspects of SEO such as optimising website speed, ensuring proper URL structure, optimising metadata, implementing schema markup, optimising images, using proper header tags, fixing broken links, improving website security, and ensuring mobile responsiveness.
